Today my heart is full as my beautiful clients will be stepping out onto the field to try to gain their spot as a Houston Texans Cheerleader. With that title comes a lot of hard work, dedication, and an understanding that you are no longer a "party of one." You are a part of a team-- not only the Houston Texans Cheerleaders but also the Houston Texans Organization.
This tryout season was unique! I knew it wasn’t going to be easy to participate as I was 31 weeks preggos when I started this process. But I knew I still wanted to be a part of these girls' journeys. With over 56 photography projects in the last six weeks while eight months and nine months pregnant; that determination and hard work and a little lack of sleep (haha! Vets and Alumni you know what I'm talking about!) that I remember from my Texans days kicked in. And I'm not going to sugar coat it...it was absolutely exhausting---but man was it rewarding! Sweet Texts and Reviews from my clients are pretty priceless.
Majority of the hair and make up done in these photo shoots was done by myself or my amazing business partner Liz Rivera with LIKE A PRO BEAUTY. We loved glamming these girls with the soft look that they need for these tryouts. A lot of people asked me how I did it. How was I carrying all of this camera equipment; how was I juggling motherhood and being a wife with my businesses. My number one answer is my support system. I've got to give a huge thank you to my amazing husband and my wonderful parents who know how important this season is for me. It brings back amazing memories and I truly cherish the relationships I build with my clients. I have the best support system and I am so blessed.
My little boy that I was caring around while helping these girls, decided to come 11 days early so he could be here to cheer them on today. We are so excited for the prospect of our clients becoming a part of our Houston Texans Cheerleaders Family. Best of luck ladies. Remember to visualize being a part of the team and until you make it...focus on you. But once you do make it...my biggest advice is to focus on the team because that right there is the difference between a good year and an amazing year.
Love You Ladies---BEST OF LUCK. I hope at the end of this we are HTC Sisters.
